About the Organizations
Kinship, Adoptive and Foster Parent Association (KAFPA)
The Kinship, Adoptive and Foster Parent Association (KAFPA) of Santa Clara County provides resources and advocates for the needs of kinship, adoptive and foster families in Santa Clara County. As the largest foster, kinship, and adoptive parent association in the region, the organization provides youth and family programming, serving over 300 foster, kinship, and adoptive parents and about 1600 foster, kinship, and adoptive and biological children. KAFPA coordinates educational training opportunities on parenting and CPR and First Aid, in addition to policy advocacy on the individual foster parent level, as a family, or wherever needed through collective community engagement.
One Warm Coat is a national nonprofit organization that engages local volunteers to collect and provide free coats to children and adults in need. The organization maintains a steadfast commitment to humanitarianism, volunteerism, and environmental sustainability. One Warm Coat believes that receiving a coat offers more than just physical comfort – it’s a gesture of kindness. Each coat carries a message of hope, reminding recipients that they are cared for and supported by their community.
