How FSBO Process is Different
Purchasing or selling a property off-market follows the same process as a traditional purchase or sale of real estate in California. However, there are a few differences in how certain items are handled when a FSBO attorney is used instead of a real estate agent. A FSBO attorney is unable to help market the property or to provide an opinion about the price of the listing. Additionally, where real estate agents typically attend all inspections of the property along with their clients, a FSBO attorney often will not attend the inspections. Finally, since the property is being sold off-market through the FSBO process, the attorney does not charge a commission based on the purchase price of the home, and instead charges a fixed fee for their service.
